BEGINNING KNITTING

If you think that   (1)  you have no talent or 

                           (2)  that knitting is going to be too difficult or 

                           (3)  it's not going to be much fun 

       You should think again.

       You could be absolutely wrong on all counts!

(1)  Lack of talent is NOT a problem - lack of knowledge and a bit of practice is.

(2)  It's not difficult - it's actually easier than most can imagine.

(3)  If you could see a novice's eyes light up after knitting that 'first row' or 

       a 98 year old smile wider than a crocodile or 

       a daughter beam over a newly knitted Shrug from her mother, 

       well ... you would immediately know that all of this can be ... loads of fun!

First ... you need to know more about our wonderful instructor.

Her name is Monica Bishop.

She has been teaching people of all ages, backgrounds and circumstance for years.  She personally knows NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON who was unable to learn how to knit and/or crochet!   

(A couple of married ones...maybe?)

Monica has the aptitude, the knowledge, the patience, the experience and also an innovative sense of contemporary design & technique.  That, dear friends, translates into a fun time for all.  She will definitely get you started in the right direction and up to speed in very little time.  It's all done professionally!

Next ...  in order to help Monica get you started in the right direction, you will need to pick out some yarn and obtain your needles.  Just some basic stuff and nothing too fancy or too difficult with which to work:  like NOT choosing the color of black for yarn else you will not be able to clearly see what you are knitting (not good for a novice).  It takes a bit of practice to work with darker colored yarns.  Also, come to the yarn shop a bit early, if you want, to just look around and get a feel for the yarn, needles and various accessories we have in our shop.  Then settle in for a fun time!

           Who     ==> anyone between the ages of 10 and 107.

           What    ==> All you have to do is bring your smile:

                                For just $30 (best value in town) you get everything:  

                       * Certified Knitting Instructor.

                       * yarn - pick out a color you like. 

                       * needles - grab a size 7-US or 8-US. 

                       * learn 3 basic steps to knitting:

                               1.  Learn how to start any project with a ... "CAST ON".

                               2.  Learn the core of knitting ... "THE KNIT STITCH".

                               3.  Learn to end a project with a ... "BIND OFF" (optional).
